I have a serious thing for old cities, palmetto trees, and coastal towns, so I was definitely in heaven during our recent trip to St. Augustine! The architecture, vibrant colors, and rich history give this gorgeous Floridian city unique charm as well as an exciting atmosphere. We spent several days exploring and eating our way through this treasure by the sea, and I still feel like we only got a taste of how much the city has to offer! Lucky for me, we are planning to go back again next year with my incredible in-laws, who invited us on this unforgettable trip, and made our week in Florida truly extraordinary!
Fountain of Youth? Unfortunately no, but I tried to at least take a dramatic photograph of a fountain since we were in St. Augustine.
What do you need after a long day of exploring in St. Augustine? Conch fritters.
What do you need when you’re gearing up for another day of exploring in St. Augustine? Crucial Coffee, of course… a coffee shop with character and delicious beverages!
Go to Salt Life Food Shack in St. Augustine! Seriously cool vibe, and the shrimp nachos…. I mean, look at this photo. SO good.
When you’re only 2 hours away from Orlando, you go to Orlando. Josh and I have been wanting to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios ever since it opened, and it definitely did not disappoint! The park is magical, truly, and I spent most of the day freaking out over every single detail (Josh had to calm me down on the Hogwarts Express because I couldn’t contain my excitement and the people sitting next to us were getting concerned… obviously, they were muggles.)
Frozen butterbeer is everything.
Our last night two nights in St. Augustine were filled with delicious meals and wonderful conversation. My favorite restaurant? Cap’s on the Water. I was blown-away by the meal, the hospitality, and the gorgeous view. Get the Vanilla Grouper…. your taste buds will love you forever.
Vanilla Grouper for the win. I can’t even look at this photo because Cap’s is so far away and I have to wait another year to eat this goodness! Also at Cap’s on the Water? These fries. Get them with peanut-butter dipping sauce. Don’t ask questions, just dip your fries in the peanut-butter, eat the fries, and you will understand.
I believe that photography is the art of outsmarting time. With each click of the shutter, a moment is stolen. I hope to steal those moments that are worth remembering. I'm an idealist to the core, a hopeless romantic, and I have an passionate, unquenchable thirst for self-expression. On the stage, behind the lens of a camera, in the company of dear friends and wonderful family, or in the arms of the only man I've ever loved.... in these places you can find my heart.
